Nintama Rantaro Live-action Movie

Nintama Rantaro, a long-running anime series is being adapted as a live-action film and surprisingly Takashi Miike, best known for ultra-violent films such as Ichi the Killer, Crows Zero and Crows Zero 2 is directing this movie! O.O



Seishiro Kato (pictured above) will play the titular young ninja Rantaro.

"Nintama Rantaro" is based on the gag manga "Rakudai Ninja Rantaro" by Soubee Amako. Set during the Sengoku era, the story follows the adventures of a young boy named Rantaro, who is born into a ninja family. He enrolls in the elite ninja school Ninjutsu Gakuen, where the young apprentices are known as "nintamas" (derived from "ninja" and "tamago").

No release date has been announced at the moment.

Used to watch the anime when I was little. Kinda surprised that they are making a live action movie on this anime!^^,

Code Geass Gaiden: Bōkoku no Akito

A new anime project called Code Geass Gaiden Bōkoku no Akito(lit. Code Geass Side Story Akito of the Lost Country) was announced on a video release of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Kiseki no Birthday event yesterday.



The side story is set in the European warfront, set in a.t.b.2017. A Knightmare unit made of boys and girls from Zone Eleven are thrown into a military operation with a 5% chance of survival. They must rescue an allied unit left behind on the European warfront.

Kazuki Akane (Escaflowne, Noein - to your other self, Birdy the Mighty Decode) is directing off scripts by Shigeru Morita (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Toward the Terra, Blood+). As in the previous two television series, Takahiro Kimura is adapting CLAMP's original character designs for animation. Akira Yasuda is also returning to design the mechanical Nightmare units.

This is great!! I just cant get enough of Code Geass!!

GunPla: Over 400 Million Served

Gundam anime franchise will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its first plastic model kit this July.

According to Bandai, as of March this year, they has sold 400 million Gundam plastic model kits — all made in Japan. (Japan has a population of about 127 million.) The first kit, a 1/144-scale Gundam, sold for 300 yen (about US$3.20) in 1980. On July 24, 2010, Bandai will release a new 1/144-scale "Real Grade" Gundam kit for 2,625 yen (US$28.20).

Digimon Cross Wars

Digimon Cross Wars is revealed to be the title for the new Digimon that was announced few weeks ago! The main hero of the series is Taiki Kudo and his partner Digimon is Shoutmon.

Taiki Kudo will be wearing the ever popular goggles, which is previously seen used by Taichi and Daisuke, both from the original Digimon Adventure and Zero Two.

Digimon Cross Wars features a great war between good and bad Digimons. Taiki Kudo will be joining the war, along with his comrades, to fight the evil Digimon army. Taiki's companions haven't been revealed yet, but the names of the Digimon partners have surfaced from a merchandise listing. They are: Dorurumon, Barisutamon, Gureimon, and Monitamon.

Update on Karigurashi no Arrietty

Karigurashi no Arrietty Studio Ghibli. I posted a teaser trailer of this film few moons ago. You can watch it here. Here is a new update on the film;

It was revealed that Mirai Shida(pictured above), a 16 years old actress will be the lead voice in this film. Shida plays the lead as Arrietty. This will be her first voice acting role.



This film s slated for a July 17, 2010 release in Japan and will mark the directorial debut of Studio Ghibli animator Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who will be the youngest person to direct a film for Ghibli. Ghibli founder Hayao Miyazaki will be supervising the production as a developing planner.

The original, Carnegie Medal-winning 1952 novel revolves around the “little people” — 10 centimeters (about 4 inches) tall — who live underneath the floorboards of an English country house. (The Japanese title literally means “the little people under the floor.”) 14-year-old Arrietty and the rest of the Clock family live in peaceful anonymity as they make their own home from items “borrowed” from the house’s human inhabitants. However, life changes for the Clocks when a human boy discovers Arrietty.

New Pokémon Series

It was confirmed by TV Tokyo that Pokémon - Diamond and Pearl will end this fall and preparations are being made for a new series to take its place.

TV Tokyo plans to reveal more information about those preparations in future announcements.

Pokémon: Black and Pokémon: White games for DS will be shipped in Japan this fall and the game features a 3D surroundings and environment.

Gundam Café

Gundam Café, opening soon! Unfortunately not in Brunei! XD

FYI this is actually the 2nd Gundam Café. The first Gundam Café, a Gundam-themed restaurant was closed in 2006. It is located in the Bandai Museum in the nearby city of Matsudo.

According to Bandai, this new cafe will open on April 24. It will be located utside the Akihabara Japan Railway.

The 60-seat, 144.2-square-meter (about 1550-square-foot) café will serve an exclusive Jaburo Coffee blend made from South American coffee beans, as well as Gun-Pla-yaki — a large-sized, fried take-out dish modeled after the very first 1/144 Gundam plastic model kit ever sold. The company will also use the café to sell and spread the word on the newest merchandise and works from its 31-year-old robot anime franchise.

Yoshitaka Amano's Zan

Yoshitaka Amano is directing his first anime film called Zan for worldwide release next year with his own production studio, Studio Deva Loka. The studio plans to announce more projects that it will produce after Zan.

The story of the 3D film begins at the end of the 19th century, when a samurai named Zan is led to a world in an alternate dimension to battle evil. In addition to directing for the first time, Amano conceived the story and drafted the original art.

Yoshitaka Amano is famous for designing the characters in the Science Ninja Team Gatchaman anime franchise and the Final Fantasy game series.^^,

Warner Bros. has paid for Dante Harper-scripted adaptation of All You Need Is Kill, a Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka and filming possibly to start within 12 months.

Below is the description of the noberu:

There's one thing worse than dying. It's coming back to do it again and again... When the alien Gitai invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many raw recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor and sent out to kill. New Digimon Series

Above is the scan of the new Digimon series that was reported few days ago. The scan features a new character and a new Digimons which their names are yet to be revealed.

Based on the clip, the hero's Digimon is somewhat similar to Agumon (Digimon Adventure) and Guilmon (Digimon Tamers). If you noticed, the Digimon on the back is somewhat like a combination of the Digimons in the front: the star-like one is the sword, the beetle is the left arm while thw wolf one is the right arm. I can't seem to notice the which part is the red one, but probably, he's the main body. This suspects me that this season's Digimon will feature Digimon Gattai, somewhat similar to Zero Two's DNA Digivolution.

And if you also noticed, the hero has goggles similar the the first Chosen Child, Taichi. I think its the return of Digimon's infamous goggles which was missing in action in Savers/Data Squad. [UkiyaSeed Via JEFusion.]

Brunei 6th DevMeet to have GunPla Competition

No I`m not makin this up. Eric, manager of CH-Toynation announced on CH-Toynation`s burogu`s chat box yesterday that the next DevMeet will be held sometime around December this year and there will be a Gunpla competition!

CH-Toynation was the sponsor for last year`s event and I believe they will be the sponsor again this year. ^^,

Eric also mentioned that Gunpla fans will also have the chance to display/showcase their works on the event. No further details about the competition announced at the moment. Chinka

What was originally planned for an April Fool`s joke somehow has turned into reality. Danny Choo`s Chinka, said to be produced by the big man`s anime production studio "Mirai Fusion" has turned into an anime character advertising agency and Chinka itself is going to be a fully fledged anime title! LOL Seems like everything that started off as a joke on DC came true!

Original synopsis:

"Since a few years ago, there have been many cases of arson.

In the rural town of Kiyotaki, situated in a beautiful mountain valley, the town folks are talking about the legendary arsonist, Akaneko [赤猫].
The police have completely given up on Akaneko, who has slipped through their fingers every time.

The town's only hope is its one and only firefighting team - the Mizuneko [水猫] Fire Brigade. But because of their destructive fire fighting ways, they too are feared by the town folk. Almost every night, Akaneko and the Mizuneko Fire Brigade fight fiercely, taking down many of the town's buildings in the process. The Mizuneko Fire Brigade have depleted most of the town's financial resources so the town ends up on the verge of bankruptcy. The town was in a critical state when Chinka, a girl with a superhuman ability to smell out fires appears. With her powers, the Mizuneko Fire Brigade close in on the true identity of Akaneko..."

Kimi no Todoke Live Action Cast Revealed!

The live actiom movie adaptation of Kimi no Todoke was announced last January by ANN. The live action movie now has a cast:


Mikako Tabe as Sawako Kuronuma, nicknamed Sadako. She`s kinda cute! X3




Haruma Miura as Shota Kazehaya, one of the most popular boys in school.


The original manga by Karuho Shiina has sold more than 10 million copies over 10 volumes so far, and an animated version just finished airing on NTV. A television drama adaptation of the manga was widely rumored last year, but the show never materialized.

The romantic comedy tells the story of the shy high school girl Sawako Kuronuma, nicknamed Sadako for her resemblance to the character from the horror film "Ringu." The misunderstood Sawako sees her life completely change when the popular boy Kazehaya begins talking to her, leading her to open up.

Although the manga is still ongoing, the movie version is said to have an original ending. Shooting starts in late April, and the film is set to open in theaters on September 25. Naoto Kumazawa is directing.

Maria-sama ga Miteru Live Action Movie

The live-action movie adaptation of "Maria-sama ga Miteru" was confirmed three days ago. According to the official website, the role of Yumi Fukuzawa will be played by Honoka Miki, while Sachiko Ogasawara will be played by Haru, associated with the magazines Love Berry and SEVENTEEN, respectively. "Maria-sama ga Miteru" is a successful series of light novels written by Oyuki Konno. Started in 1998 and still ongoing, the novels have spawned a manga adaptation and multiple seasons of a television anime.

The story revolves around the students at Lillian Academy, an all-girls Catholic school. As one of the school's traditions, upperclassmen pass on their rosaries to younger students, forming a sisterly bond in which the older one promises guidance to the younger one. Haru plays the part of Sachiko Ogasawara, one of the most admired girls at the academy, while Miki plays a young girl named Yumi Fukuzawa who receives Sachiko's rosary.

The movie will start shooting this May and is set to hit this autumn.
