Eight people were arrested for their involvement in the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Fukuoka City on Sunday, with the girl’s mother and younger sister among the suspects.
Police said the girl’s 41-year-old mother, Yoshie Seri, is accused of threatening her daughter with a knife, while Hiroki Yamanaka, 20, raped her. Six other people, including the girl’s 16-year-old younger sister, are accused of punching and kicking the girl in the group assault which began at around 2 p.m. and finished about five hours later. The girl suffered injuries to her face and body which are expected to take three weeks to heal.
The incident took place at an 18-year-old youth’s apartment in Fukuoka City, where the group gathered on occasion. Police said the incident started with an argument over the girl’s attitude, and that all eight people have admitted to their involvement.
