We are still pretty exited for the upcoming Kamen Rider 1 The Movie, Toei's Super Hero Year Project revealed yet another Showa Rider that is getting a modern treatment; Kamen Rider Amazon!

Kamen Rider Amazons will feature not one, but TWO versions of the monster ripping showa rider which are called Kamen Rider Amazon Alpha (which was designed after the SIC hero saga exclusive) and Kamen Rider Amazon Omega (a new look for the original). You can watch the trailer below!
 


The movie will star Tomi Fujita as Yu Misuzawa/Kamen Rider Amazon Omega and Kenji Taniguchi as Jin Takayama/Kamen Rider Amazon Alpha (also known for his role as Tatsumi Nagare/Go Blue of Kyukyu Sentai Gogo V).

Kamen Rider Amazons is written by Yasuko Kobayashi and directed by Hidenori Ishida, Ryuta Tasaki, and Osamu Kaneda and will premiere this April 1 and will be available only via Japan's Amazon Prime.

Good news to Ultra fans in Brunei! Those Japanese superheroes will be making their first appearance in Brunei Darussalam from March 18-28 at the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre, hosted by Human Capacity Building Consultancy Service.

 This event is intended to attract visitors from neighbouring countries to Brunei, and also as an encouragement for locals to stay in the country during the school-term holidays.

 Scheduled to make an appearance in March are Ultraman, Ultraman Zero, Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Ginga, Ultraman Taro, Ultraman Seven, Ultraman Mebius and Ultraman Cosmos (Luna model). Meanwhile, among the villain line-up are Alien Baltan, Tyrant, Red King, Golza, Chaos and Monster Booska.

 Tickets available at $28 for blue zone, $38 for red zone and $50 for the VIP Zone which comes with free Ultraman Limited Edition projection watch worth $30 for non ticket holder. For Blue and Red zone ticket holder, the watch is available on sale for $18 each! Tickets can be bought from Freshco Batu Satu, Hua Ho Manggis Mall, Times Square, Gong Cha, Cheez Box and EGM!

The next rider after Kamen Rider OOO has been revealed! It will be called Kamen Rider... Fouze??

A bit info on the new rider:
  • There's a switch on his belt. This switch can change his arm and weapons. It can give him rockets, or even turn is arm into a manipulator.
  • Fouze's motif is based on astronauts and the protagonist is high school student.

Kamen Rider Fouze is already been registered but as of now, no images of it have surfaced. And with that, a rumored staff list had spread in the interwebs!

Please take rumors with a grain of salt!

  • Producer: Naomi Takebe (current producer of Kamen Rider OOO)
  • Director: Kyota Kawasaki (worked on Ultraman Tiga, Dyna and Ryukendo)
  • Writers: Chiaki J. Konaka (a bunch of anime series and Ultraman Gaia) and Sho Aikawa (Kamen Rider Blade and Decade Episodes 1 to 12)
  • Music: Toshihiko Sahashi (Kamen Rider Kuuga, Agito, Hibiki and Den-O, and bunch of anime series)
  • Character Design: Keita Amemiya (Kamen Rider J, ZO, Shin, Garo and Hakaider)

Accordingly, Kamen Rider Fouze will be stylized as Kamen Rider 40, with "40" be read as "Fouze," "Four-zay" or something along those lines. And as per rumors, Fouze is a high school student who suffers from memory loss. He inherited the Rider System from his father and he fights "Noa."

An interesting post about the meaning of Kamen Rider names!! XD

On one thread on Henshin Justice Unlimited called, "Do the names of shows have meaning? (Gokaiger, etc)" created by PsychoGokaiker and Kamen Rider guru, Igadevil posted the meanings of Kamen Rider names from the original till Kamen Rider Kiva!

Kamen Rider = Masked Rider, self explanatory.

Kamen Rider V3 = Depending on who you ask, it stands for "Version 3" (because he's the third Rider) or "Victory 3" (the third and final triumph over Shocker, since Gelshocker and Destron are direct descendants.) Or both.

Kamen Rider X = You ready for this? It's complicated: The idea was that since he was the 5th Rider, they'd use the Roman Numeral for 5. Coming so soon after V3 though, they couldn't just call him Kamen Rider V. An early title for the series was in fact Kamen Rider W! Read as Kamen Rider Double-V though. Eventually they messed around with it enough and someone realized that if you put one V on top of an upside-down V, it looks like an X. And there you go (the opening theme lyrics even make mention of the "V & V" thing.)

Amazon = He's from the Amazon. Hey, what other Rider is?

Stronger = Not sure of the history of this one, other than that an early name was "Kamen Rider Spark" so it was going to start with an "S" for a while. Stronger also just is catchier than "Strong".

New Kamen Rider = The show's just called "Kamen Rider" onscreen. Toei started denoting it with the "New" to differentiate it after the fact. "Skyrider" comes from the fact that he flies.

Super-1 = was the original codename for Oki's new cybernetic self. Outside of the show, earlier titles were Kamen Rider V9 and Technorider (!) They settled on Super-1 because he was intended to be the "New Kamen Rider 1 of the next generation", aka the 80's.

ZX = Beats me, fans made it up. Considering the "X" is read as "Cross" I think it has a lot to do with the cross-like designs on his weapons. It can also mean Silver Cross, ZX's Badan name. First became a radio show before it have a TV special.

BLACK = Gorgom called him Black Sun, he rejected the name and became Kamen Rider BLACK! (Ishinomori's manga uses lower-case, but the TV character is generally addressed in either caps or katakana.) As for how they picked the name in real life, I think it's pretty self-explanatory.

Kamen Rider Black is supposed to be called Kamen Rider 0 which is supposed to be a new origin story to Kamen Rider, hence the number "0" or "zero." Not sure how it ended to BLACK.

BLACK RX = I actually don't remember the real story is behind the RX. The logo on his chest is a heavily stylized RX though (BLACK's was supposed to be a heavily-stylized Gorgom snake-eating-an-orb.)

Shin = Because he's the true Kamen Rider and everything before and after him did/does it wrong!

ZO = It was long thought that "ZO" just looks like "20" since this was the 20th Anniversary commemorative movie... except then people remembered that ZO came out in 1993. The real meaning behind the name, according to Ishinomori, is that since this was sort of a back-to-basics scaled-down retelling of the original story (again) it's Z = Ultimate O= Starting point (it's supposed to double as a zero.)

J = Multiple stories exist for this one too. The obvious meaning is "Jumbo" but apparently Ishinomori also said it was for "Judge". Then some book went on to add "Jupiter" since he's the biggest Rider ever and all that, and some fans in the 90's thought it stood for "Justice".

Kuuga = 'Kuuga' is of course derived from "Kuwagata" or Stag Beetle, but the bigger reason behind it is Toei wanted something you could also write in Kanji, since of course it would end up being an episode title. The fact that it also means "Empty Self" (or an approximate) is one of television's miracles. Consider, earlier names were Kamen Rider Guardian, Kamen Rider Ouja (!) and Kamen Rider Otis (which I always assumed was meant to be a corruption of "Odyssey".)

Agito = Agito means "I move", which was supposed to represent how Agito kept evolving. The A in Agito is Alpha and the o is Omega. Agito is also an obsolete word for chin.

Gills = The very same kanji for agito/chin could also be for the word gills. Gills was more or less an incomplete Agito.

Ryuki = 龍騎 as it's written in Japanese. 龍 (ryu) means dragon, 騎 means roughly to mount. The guy does ride a dragon bike.

Hibiki = 響(Hibiki)- echo/sound 鬼(ki)- demon/ogre. Sound is a key element and the guy is supposed to be an ogre.

Kabuto = Kabuto is based on the kabuto beetle, but his early name was 甲斗, which is pronounced Kabuto as well. 甲(Kabuto)-Helmet 斗(to)- it's a type of measurement. His final name in Japanase was カブト, so it was slightly different.

Sasword = From the word sasori, which means scorpion, and the word sword.

Gatack = From kuwagata, the type of beetle he was based on, and attack.

Den-O = Train King. He's based on trains.

Zeronos = From the word zero and Chronos, which was supposed to show that everyone would eventually forget about him. Chronos was some sort of time god or something.

Kiva = King of Vampires, pun on the word kiba which means fang.

IXA = Read the same as the word 戦 (war, fight).

G = Because he is the true OG

Kudos to PsychoGokaiger for creating this interesting thread! Asides from Kamen Rider show name meanings, you will learn Super Sentai show meanings and probably one of the weirdest you will learn in this thread is the meaning behind 'Maji Maji Magiro' which means, 'Are we really serious?'

Famous gore movie director Noboru Iguchi (RoboGeisha, Mutant Girls Squad) has given a classic tokusatsu series a new look! Entitled Karate-Robo Zaborgar, is the 2011 movie remake of the 1974 tokusatsu series Denjin Zaborger.

An evil secret society called Sigma kidnaps Japan's political and business leaders, to harvest DNA for the creation of their Ultimate Weapon. Sigma's only serious opponent: secret agent Yutaka Daimon with his faithful robot motorcycle sidekick Zaborgar.

Daimon has a personal vendetta against Sigma as they killed his father, but he starts doubting his mission when the people he protects turn out to be cowardly and corrupt. Disaster strikes when Daimon starts to have romantic feelings for Miss Borg, a sexy cyborg agent from Sigma, leading to a split between Daimon and Zaborgar.



Karate-Robo Zaborger will be split into two arcs. The first being Daimon's younger days, and the later half dealing with Daimon's middle-age days. Young Daimon will be played by Furuhara Yasuhisa (Engine Sentai Go-onger), while Itao Itsuji (Kamen Rider the FIRST) plays the older Daimon. And Takenaka Naoto (Nodame Cantabile) will play Daimon's father.

Other casts includes Emoto Akira who plays as Dr. Akunomiya while Yamasaki Mami (GoGo Sentai Boukenger) plays Miss Borg. Lastly, Watanabe Hiroyuki (Kamen Rider Den-O: Ore Tanjou, GARO) plays the inspector that allies with Daimon.

Karate-Robo Zaborger is directed by Noboru Iguchi and produced by Sushi Typhoon. It is slated for 2011 release.

Trailer for Kamen Rider W Returns: Kamen Rider Eternal has been released! You can watch the trailer using the player below;



The story follows the heroic past of Daido Katsumi, a member of the undead group of soldiers, NEVER.

In Kamen Rider W RETURNS: Kamen Rider Eternal, Kamen Rider W is still fighting against the remaining Dopants, and suddenly a woman holding psychic powers appears. Her name is Mina (played by Rin Takanashi). She has come to Futo in order to avenge Katsumi Daido's defeat in W FOREVER: AtoZ/Gaia Memories of Fate.

According to Mina, "Katsumi was going to save us from hell." To her, Katsumi Daido was everyone's hero. She then tells the story of Katsumi Daido's heroic past, which leads to the formation of NEVER and Kamen Rider Eternal.

Kamen Rider W RETURNS: Kamen Rider Eternal will be released on July 21.

With the release of the first Kamen Rider W RETURNS v-cinema comes to a close, we got new information regarding the second in the series Kamen Rider W RETURNS: Kamen Rider Eternal. It basically talks about the concept behind Daido Katsumi and the lead female character in the movie, Mina.

The concept of the character Katsumi Daido came from "what if Philip made a certain mistake." Daido is basically "if Sokichi and Shotaro never met Philip," without them he turned evil. If he didn't make this mistake, Daido would live a life similar to Philip's.


This mistake is the core of Kamen Rider Eternal. He holds an incredible sadness, and according to Hideaki Tsukada, his sadness fits a Kamen Rider. Mitsuru Matsuoka was actually serious when he said he wanted to do a Kamen Rider Eternal spin off back in 2010. But most people took it as a joke.

The movie will hold the truth behind Eternal. According Hideaki Tsukada, you should watch Kamen Rider W FOREVER: AtoZ/Gaia Memories of Fate once more after you've watched Kamen Rider W RETURNS: Kamen Rider Eternal, your viewpoint of Eternal will most likely change.



Actress Rin Takanashi (Samurai Sentai Shinkenger) is playing a character called "Mina." Mina is an experiment to create a super soldier with ESP powers. She always kept herself alone and didn't open up to anyone until she met Daido Katsumi.

W Returns: Kamen Rider Accel tells the story after the events of Kamen Rider Movie Wars CORE where Ryu Terui saved a girl named Aoi Kuzuki from an attack caused by the Masked Soldiers. Suddenly, the Commander Dopant shows up to take something from Aoi, but she doesn't have that thing anymore. Commander Dopant places a time bomb on Aoi and frames Terui.

Any of you remember Bulk? He was the bully at Angel Grove High School, a classic character in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! According to JEFusion, this character will be making a comeback in the latest Power Rangers series; Power Rangers Samurai.

Kamen Rider W RETURNS: Kamen Rider Accel;

Commander Dopant is able to create an endless amount of Masked Soldiers. Commander Dopant calls the criminals of Futo garbage and his "mission" is to clean up this garbage. Aoi Kuzuki's father seems to have some relation to the Commander Dopant.


The Commander Dopant can achieve a stronger form (right) by using the Gaia Memory Enhancing Adapter, which makes any memory 3 times stronger. It gains more speed and strength putting Kamen Rider Accel in a pinch! And as revealed in our previous posts, Ryu can also use this to upgrade into Kamen Rider Accel Booster.



Up next is Kamen Rider W RETURNS: Kamen Rider Eternal. Kamen Rider W is still fighting against the remaining Dopants, and suddenly a woman holding psychic powers appears. Hiroshi Fujioka, Takeshi Sasaki and Hiroshi Miyauchi, the original actors of the three original Kamen Riders which are now in their late 60s will be appearing on Let`s Go Kamen Rider movie as Rider 1, Rider 2 and V3 respectively!

Their last appearance together was in the 1974 movie "Kamen Rider X: Five Riders Vs. King Dark."

The producer, Shichirou Shirakura said,

"The children 40 years ago watched Kamen Rider and they are now parents. Their children are watching the modern Kamen Rider. Together, they can watch this movie and enjoy it together."

The three veteran Kamen Rider actors will be dubbing their voices during the start of February.Kamen Rider #1 and #2 will be greeting each other by shouting "Ichimonji!" and "Hongo," while V3 will do his famous "V3" shout.

OOO - Den-O - All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Rider marks the 40th anniversary of the Kamen Rider franchise. All of the Kamen Riders up until now are expected to appear, though the main characters will be Kamen Rider OOO and Kamen Rider NEW Den-O. With the help of Kamen Rider V3 (now a major character), who saves OOO earlier in the said film, they will face off against Kamen Rider #1 and Kamen Rider #2, who have joined the evil organization, Shocker.

Plot details for Let`s Go Kamen Riders has been revealed but it is yet to be confirmed whether this is real or fake:

40 years ago, the Kamen Rider Riders were defeated by Shocker, due to the time alteration by the Mole Imagin. Shocker has been ruling over the world since then. Kamen Rider OOO, NEW Den-O and Ankh has been crucified and are standing before the population of Japan.

The three of them are about to be publicly executed, Ankh goes to possess Momotaros. The one ordering the execution is General Shadow and he calls for Kamen Rider #1 and #2 to do the execution. It seems like the two of them are working for Shocker now. When it’s time for execution the Boy Rider Squad shows up and gives the Riders their belts.

It’s then revealed that Kamen Rider #1 and #2 had broken the brainwashing a long time ago and instead of executing them, they release them. Together the five Kamen Riders fight against Shocker.

The movie will be released on April 1.
