HYOGO - Police on Sunday arrested a 30-year-old man on charges of assault after he punched a six-year-old elementary school student twice in the stomach on Sept 19.
Kunihiko Katsuda is suspected of grabbing the Himeji City girl while she was walking home from school and punching her in the abdomen twice, severely injuring her liver. Police say Katsuda and the girl did not know each other.
There were three similar cases of violence toward elementary and high school students in the same area during September and October, and police are currently investigating Katsuda’s involvement in the crimes.
