Jakarta - Indonesian police have arrested the suspected murderer of a 33-year-old female Japanese tourist, who was found dead Monday in the Indonesian resort island of Bali, a police officer said Saturday.
Wilmar Marpaung, detective unit chief at the Bali Police Headquarters, said the suspect, identified only as 37-year-old David, was arrested Friday evening in the town of Malang in East Java Province.
Rika Sano was found dead in a thicket of bushes in the Kuta beach resort area after having been reported missing since Sept 25. Her body was found half-naked with signs of injuries, with her underwear, cellular phone, cosmetics and other belongings scattered around.
Police also found a wood log, which might have been used to beat and kill the woman from Kanagawa Prefecture, south of Tokyo.
According to Marpaung, David was implicated after police found an MP4 player belonging to him near Sano’s body. Read More!
