The film takes place within a post-apocalyptic America, where a zombie apocalypse has been triggered by a virulent form of human adapted mad cow disease. lol It was directed by Ruben Fleischer and stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin as survivors. Man, I fell in love with Emma Stone because of this movie!! She`s just hot and cute!!!!
The characters in this movie do not use each others' real names. Instead, they identify themselves using place name (Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, Little Rock) that relates to them.
Jesse Eisenberg(Columbus), Emma Stone(Wichita), Abigail Breslin(Little Rock), and Woody Harrelson( Tallahassee).
Our lead character is on his way to Columbus, Ohio to see if his parents are alive and encounters Tallahassee. They travel together and meet two sisters, Wichita and Little Rock. They are trying to get to Pacific Playland so Little Rock can have just a little moment of feeling like a kid again but unfotunately, the sisters tricked them and steal their SUV and weapons. Colombus and Tallahassee walk and soon find a Hummer truck loaded with weapons. They then meet the girls again, having their vehicle broken down, they attempted to take the Hummer. Columbus proposes a truce and suggests they travel together.
This movie was awesome and it was hilarious! I know that the mainstream of zombie-genre movies isn`t booming like it was before and now that vampires have taken over, to me Zombieland is like making a come back to zombie-genre movies! It is not much of a horror movie but it did successfully scared me on the first 10 minutes of the movie. Watching Zombieland is like a road trip of a movie, with episodic humor splattered with violent mayhem. There is a running gag in this movie; A list of rules Columbus comes up with for surviving! Here are the few rules that I still remember;
#1 - Cardio
#2 - Double Tap
#3 - Wear Seatbelts
#7 - Travel Light
#17 - (Don't) Be a hero
#22 - When in doubt, know your way out
#31 - Check the back seat
#32 - Enjoy the little things
There are loads of memorable kills featured in this movie. One of them is when Colombus accidentally shot Bill Murray in his mansion! lol XD Zombieland is a perfect combination of horror and comedy and I guaranteed every horror and comedy fans will enjoy this movie and to me this is the best zombie-genre movie yet!
