Mo-retsu Uchu Pirate is an anime currently being directed by Tatsuo Sato. The anime is adapted from popular light novel series Miniskirt Space Pirates by Yuichi Sasamoto.
This series will be produced by Satelight of Macross Frontier and Genesis of Aquarion, and will be aired next year.
Marika used to be your average highschool girl, busy with extracurricular Space Yacht Club and her job waiting tables at a retro-cafe, until one day her late father's subordinates appear and requests her to be the captain of the space pirate ship Benten-maru.
Thus begins a splendidly glorious space opera!
